Villa Renovation Project
A seamless addition to the existing structure, updated window designs and sizes, and a change from traditional to contemporary materials and color schemes were all necessary to achieve the client’s goal of turning their classic home into a modern masterpiece.
PROJECT CONCEPT
Through the addition of a contemporary addition that seamlessly integrates with the original building, this renovation revitalizes the villa. In order to maximize natural light and provide a more open feeling, the conventional windows were swapped out for modern, floor-to-ceiling glass panels. A sophisticated and modern style was achieved by updating the exterior and interior materials to modern finishes with clean lines, neutral colors, and polished textures.
CHALLENGES
Enlarging windows while preserving the villa’s structural integrity and ensuring a smooth transition between the old and new buildings were crucial. It was also difficult to select contemporary materials that blended in with the historic building without becoming incompatible.
SOLUTIONS
To see how the extension will work with the current villa, we created 3D representations. The selection process was improved with the use of material and color simulations, guaranteeing a unified contemporary look. Building information modeling, or BIM, was used to better coordinate design and execution, optimize material use, and precisely evaluate structural alterations. This made sure that the change from classic to modern was seamless, effective, and eye-catching.
